Things that I will miss that will be difficult to replenish:
- All my software and applications. Hordes of it.
- 3 years or so worth of photos
- email history
- message history
- contact lists
- All my web projects which in turn will make it very difficult to put together my portfolio.
- All the files for my site
- 20 gigs of music
- The new Michel Gondry DVD that was sitting in the drive that I had just got sent to me from Canada.
- They also took the webcam.
- And headset
- and USB hub.
Now I’m in a predicament of purchasing my new notebook. Do I buy in Korea or order from Canada?
Korea: Decent prices but not substantially cheaper or expensive as long as I buy Korean products. Imported products are more expensive. Also warranty will only be a year, and any kind of extended warranty would be pointless when I’m back in Canada.
Canada: Little more expensive considering that I’ll have to have it shipped to Richmond Hill and then have my mother ship it to me. This way I’ll get a 4 year warranty that’ll guarantee me a working machine for that period provided it doesn’t get stolen or lost. I’ll also be able to get a machine with all the specs that are most important to me. Namely, a high resolution (sxga minimum), GIG of RAM, and DVD burner are the most important to me.
On another note, I’m really hating teaching the Phonics class. They’re just too much trouble. They don’t understand what I’m saying. And I’m pretty sure one of them stole the stickers Tori sent me that were FOR them in the first place.
