Robbed

About an hour ago I got home from having dinner with Samchun. I came home and my door was unlocked. Which was peculiar. Samchun was with me and I look at my desk and it was unusually sparse.

Namely, my notebook, mp3 player, and digital camera are gone, and my window, open.

The police came, and I wasn’t alone, which was nice. In retrospect it probably would’ve been slightly traumatizing if I was in, say, Japan.

But it wasn’t so bad. I mean, my laptop is in shambles. You have to push down with your thumb on this little area near the power switch before actually pushing the switch itself for it to turn on. It’s the equivalent of smacking the dashboard while turning on the ignition in an old car.

Needless to say, I’m a little pissed. But surpsingily, not that pissed.

It’s no so much the objects themselves. It was more my 25 gig music library, 3 years worth of photos (some of which I have in my photobucket).

Oh, and Mike, I bought you two pairs of shoes for your birthday. They took those too, along with 4 new pairs of socks I had bought yesterday in lieu of doing laundry. So that’ll have to wait.

I was only gone for an hour and half. Two theories: 1. they came in through window which I had left unlocked because it was open earlier. It was a really beautiful day out so was getting some fresh air. 2. Someone has a set of keys because they used to live there.

Gotta get going on purchasing the new laptop.

Tomorrow I get new locks and bars on my windows. I guess it’s back to the PC-Rooms for me.

Hey Jason,

just taking a break from my reading and wanted to check out how you were doing. I’m so sorry that you have to go through this…people are so selfish and mean. I think it’s great that you’ve reacted so positively and managed to keep yourself in good spirits. You’re great and I wanted to give you a *hugs*.
take care of yourself.
talk to you on msn =)

You should do what Mark did - get everyone to give you an mp3 cd full of their music.

I guess you have to do laundry now…
In retrospect, the camera was going to be replaced as well, thank goodness (in this scenario) technology is so fleeting. Now you can get a new laptop, and I can get a new camera!

Haig: Yes, the guitar was spared. And so were the hoardes of comic books that got sent to me. I got to catch up on those last night.

Sarah: I had 4 years of photos on the laptop itself. I barely used the camera though. The things too big.

Katie: I thought I was safe on the 2nd floor. Apparently not.

Emily I’ll kill those bible thumpers.
