Sympathy for Mr. Vengeance
Many months ago, I raved about a movie I watched called ‘OldBoy‘. It is very easily one of my favourite movies of all-time. I’ve been meaning to explore other work by Chan Wook Park but never really got a chance until I watched Sympathy for Mr. Vengeance tonight.

I said it for Oldboy, and I’ll say it for Mr. Vengeance; this movie is not for the faint of heart.
Less flashy than Oldboy, and more spatious in it’s film making like Lost in Translation, Sympathy for Mr. Vengeance is executed with a slow, gruesome, ease. I won’t go on too much about it. I liked it though. It didn’t blow me away the way OldBoy did, but it was certainly an excellent movie. Very soon, Sympathy for Lady Vengeance is due out and it’s the 3rd part to the vengeance trilogy that is Mr. Vengeance | OldBoy| Lady Vengeance.
I also hope to explore Joint Security Area, his first commercial hit, and Three…Extremes, a short filim trilogy from Chinese, Japanese and Korean (Chun-wook Park) filmmakers.
